Latter-day Saints prepare for long-awaited opening, public open house

Jamaica, New York – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has completed construction on a new meetinghouse that will serve its French Creole, Spanish and English-speaking members who reside in Jamaica Queens and nearby communities.The Church of Jesus Christ is the fourth-largest church body in theU.S.and its numbers are growing in the NY area, where LDS members will open their newest meetinghouse in Jamaica Queens.To celebrate the opening, local Latter-day Saints are preparing an open house for the public, slated for Friday and Saturday, January 27 and 28 respectively.  Tourson Friday will be offered from 7-9pm. Tourson Saturday will be offered from 1-5pm.  The new meetinghouse is located at 89-58 163rd Street,Queens,NY11432.  People of all ages, faiths and religious backgrounds are welcome to attend.The new meetinghouse will consist of Sunday services from 9-12pm or 1-4pm, weekday activities for youth and women, and occasional other services.  We invite all to worship with us.  To learn more about the Church and our worship services, please visit www.mormon.org.
