“ACATEMY” AWARD-WINNING FELINES UP FOR ADOPTION DURING ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL’S “CELEBRIKITTIES” SPECIAL

$20 adoption fee for cats and kittens March 1, 2 & 3

New York, February 27, 2014 – They’re glamorous. They’re sophisticated. They’re dazzling. They’re CelebriKitties, available for adoption at Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) this weekend (March 1, 2, and 3) for a $20 fee. While Hollywood celebrates the Oscars, New York City is the place to be to celebrate AC&C’s “Acatemy” Award-winning felines.

Potential adopters are invited to meet and fall in love with the stars of such classics as Catsablanca, A Streetcat Named Desire, and Close Encounters of the Feline Kind. During a sneak preview on February 28, adopters can bring a coupon for $5 off (available on AC&C’s website, www.nycacc.org, or Facebook page, www.facebook.com/NYCACC) to adopt a Celebrikitty for $15.

All AC&C adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, a free office visit at a participating veterinarian and a free identification tag.

Individuals and families interested in adopting can visit one of AC&C’s three Adoption Care Centers, open from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. daily for adoptions.

Manhattan: 326 East 110th Street
Brooklyn: 2336 Linden Boulevard
Staten Island: 3139 Veterans Road West

Potential adopters can also visit AC&C’s website at www.nycacc.org to view CelebriKitties and other animals available for adoption.

“You won’t want to miss our CelebriKitty special,” AC&C Executive Director Risa Weinstock says. “Adopt one of our furry stars, and you’ll have a great companion to curl up on the couch with and watch the Oscars!”
