OPEN HOUSE, HISTORICAL TALKS & TOURS & UNVEILING OF NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES PLAQUE


There will be a special church service at 10:45, followed by refreshments in the gym. At 12:30 a celebration & unveiling of the church's new National Register of Historic Places plaque will take place on the front lawn. Immediately following (about 1:00 pm) will be an Open House, as part of NY Landmarks Sacred Sites Open House weekend. There will be talks on the church's history in the area since1652 & the architecture of the present 1895 building, both presented by historian Marjorie Melikian. See the stained glass by Tiffany artists. Approx. 1:15 Elder Bobson Wong will lead a short walking tour of the buildings, grounds, & the historical neighborhood. Ongoing will be a display of old documents from 1708 on & photos from late 1800s on. Display closes shortly after tour starts.

Corner of Queens Blvd. & 54th Avenue, Elmhurst, NY. Take the R or M train to Grand Ave./Newtown stop. Get off at the NW corner & you will be in front of the church. Or take the Q58, 59, or 60 bus to Grand Ave., one block away.
