Imaginary Witness: Hollywood and the Holocaust

Imaginary Witness: Hollywood and the Holocaust examines how Hollywood has depicted the Holocaust in feature films since 1933. Directed by Daniel Anker, narrated by Gene Hackman and containing interviews with survivors who worked in the film industry as well as Holocaust scholars and directors of major Holocaust films, the documentary traces how the portrayal of the Holocaust has changed in Hollywood productions from 1934 until the present. The film will be shown in its entirety and the discussion afterwards will be facilitated by Fred Craden, host of the Huntington Cinema Arts Centre’s monthly Sunday Bagel Schmooze as well as its monthly Spirituality in Cinema program.
Light refreshments will be served.
