Elwood Bunn’s Country Jubilee, a Country Music Barn Dance, will take place at Flushing Town Hall on Friday, July 25 at 8 p.m.

Bunn and his band will perform classic country songs. During the event, there will also be the opportunity to learn dances such as the Texas Two Step.

“Classical Latin Guitar & Celtic Concert with Christian Arffmann” will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 at the Flushing Library.

The concert will include contemporary Latin guitar works by composers such as Rafael Landestoy and Antonio Lauro. On the wooden flute and penny whistle, he will perform traditional Irish music.

Arffmann will be joined by Connor O’ Sullivan, a fiddle player from Dublin.

Concerts on the Green
Queens Symphony Orchestra
Sunday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 30


As part of their free Concerts on the Green series, the Queens Symphony Orchestra will perform two concerts in July under the leadership of music director and conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos.

The first will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 at the Forest Park Bandshell, which is located at Woodhaven Boulevard at Forest Park Drive.

The second will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at St. John’s University, which is located at Union Turnpike and Utopia Parkway.

The theme of both concerts will be “Broadway & Jazz.”

“Mad Hot Ballroom”
Central Astoria Local Development Coalition, Inc.

As part of its Monday movie night series, the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition, Inc. will screen “Mad Hot Ballroom” on Monday, July 28 at 8:15 p.m.

The screening will take place at the Astoria Park lawn, which is located on Shore Boulevard between the Hells Gate Bridge and the pool.
