Tenor Salvatore Chiarelli Glen Oaks Library Saturday, August 23 “Tenor Salvatore Chiarelli in Concert - An Afternoon of Italian Songs, Love Ballads, and Musical Theatre” will take place at the Glen Oaks Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 23. Chiarelli, who has taught music in city public schools, has performed in the opera and on television and radio. Along with performing in the United States, he has done shows in Europe. Hot Jazz/Cool Garden Louis Armstrong House Museum Sunday, August 24 The Louis Armstrong House Museum will continue with its series Hot Jazz/Cool Garden at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 24. The series features new bands who specialize in performing traditional jazz. The August 24 performance will feature the group Lounge Leader. During the concert, the Louis Armstrong House will be open for tours for a charge of $5 per person. The Louis Armstrong House Museum is located at 34-56 107th Street in Corona. Annual Summer Lawn Concert Bayside Historical Society Sunday, August 24 The Bayside Historical Society will hold its annual summer lawn concert from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 21. The performance will feature classic rock songs performed by the group Chicken Head. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs, blankets and a picnic. The Bayside Historical Society is located at 208 Totten Avenue. The concert, which is being co-sponsored with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, will take place on the great lawn overlooking Little Beck Bay.
