Graffiti vandals out on bailBY TONIA N. CIMINOGraffiti vandal "Sum Z," whose real name is John Colasanti, 35, of Ozone Park, is due back in court on October 23.
Just weeks ago, in the early morning hours of August 29, Colasanti, a.k.a. "Sum," and Zolina Lindo, a.k.a. "Z," 22, were arrested after Scott Jordan called police as the pair was allegedly doing graffiti on the outside of an 18-wheel tractor trailer parked on Rockaway Boulevard and 87th Street. According to the office of Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, Colasanti was arraigned on August 30 and posted $10,000 bail on September 11. Lindo also posted bail, $5,000 and has the same court date. Both are charged with criminal mischief, making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments. According to Captain Charles McEvoy of the 102nd Precinct, the "tag" "Sum Z" can be explained as follows: a family member called Colasanti "handsome." That was truncated to "Sum" and Lindo was the "Z." |
