Holy Cross Knight to play with Pride

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 6:31 PM EST
Reginald Francklin (front, center) can truly say he is the pride of Holy Cross High School in Flushing after his varsity football career as No. 15, linebacker for the Knights, in the Catholic High School Football League’s AAA Division. The six-foot tall, 225 pound Francklin who commuted to the school from Rosedale, was chosen “Defensive Player of the Year” for the last two years. The league encompasses the five boroughs, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. On Wednesday, February 4, Francklin signed to attend Long Island’s Hofstra University on a full scholarship, where he’ll play for their football team, the Pride. Shown here, “Reggie” sits between his dad, Farine and mom, Tehran, while Holy Cross principal Joseph Giannuzzi and Coach Tom Pugh stand behind - all smiling with pride.
