Family Day

Wednesday, July 1, 2009 3:18 PM EDT
Councilmember Thomas White, Jr. sponsored and hosted a Family Day in coordination with the Queens Parks Department on Sunday, June 28 at Phil “Scooter” Rizzuto Park. More than 500 children and their parents were in attendance at the event, which featured services and entertainment provided by volunteers from throughout the community. Activities included arts and crafts, inflatable bouncers, face painting, music and live performances.

“During tough economic times like these, it’s especially important for the city to help families find low cost and free activities in which to spend time together, tighten their bonds and have a good time in the comfort of one of our great parks that we have here in southeast Queens,” said White.
