Who’s backing whom in ‘09?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been endorsed by Jewish newspapers Yated Ne’eman and Bukharian Times, Democrat Congressmember Michael E. McMahon, representing Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, and the nearly 50,000-member NYPD Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA).

The New York City Fire Marshals Benevolent Association has endorsed Republican Dan Halloran for City Council District 19.

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has endorsed Democrat Kevin Kim for City Council District 19.




Korean community leaders Rich Lee, Heong bin Lim, Jai bok Choi, Min soo Sin, Yong seon Kim and Sang mo An; the United Federation of Teachers (UFT); Queens County Democratic Leader, Congressmember Joseph Crowley; Congressmember Gary Ackerman; Queens Borough President Helen Marshall; city comptroller candidate, Councilmember John Liu; State Senator Toby Stavisky; Assemblymembers Rory Lancman and Mark Weprin, and Councilmember David Weprin have endorsed Democrat Yen Chou for City Council District 20.

Former Mayor and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani has endorsed Republican Peter Koo for City Council District 20.

The Detectives Endowment Association; the Lieutenants Benevolent Association; the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association; the Uniformed Firefighters Association; the Uniformed Fire Officers Association; the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association; the United Federation of Teachers; the Council of School Supervisors & Administrators, DC37; the Social Service Employees Union Local 371; the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Joint Council No. 16; Communication Workers of America; Mason Tenders’ District Council; New York City District Council of Carpenters; Freelancers Union; PSC/CUNY; RWDSU 338; Teamsters Local 237; SEIU 32BJ; the League of Humane Voters; the Association of New American Democrats; Queens County Democrats and the Queens County Conservative Party have endorsed Democrat Peter Vallone, Jr. for City Council District 22.

The United Federation of Teachers (UFT); Democratic District Leader and former City Council candidate Deirdre Feerick have endorsed Democrat Jimmy Van Bramer for City Council District 26.

Brooklyn State Senator Marty Golden has endorsed Republican Angelo Maragos for City Council Candidate for District 26.

The Uniformed Fire Officers Association, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1500 and Retail, Wholesale, Department Store Union Local 338 have endorsed Democrat Frank Gulluscio for City Council District 32.
