Bowne park monster bash

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 5:02 PM EST
On Halloween, Alyssa DeSantis, 14, Gabriella Barretta, 12, Isabella Barretta, 6, Jessica DeSantis, 10 and Mariella Barretta, 3, enjoyed a fantastic day of fun and games, including free pony rides, face painting, pumpkin painting and more, at Bowne Park in Flushing.

Proceeds from the day’s raffles – 32” flat screen TV; gym membership; iPod Nano; and $200 from Queens Garden Nursery – will be donated to St Mary’s Hospital for Children in Bayside. Prizes for best costumes and the First Annual Essay Contest Award were also given.

Entertainment was provided by a Chicago cover band, Angelo Venuto, Vito Polizzi and DJ Rosario and MC.

The event, which drew crowds, was sponsored by GardenWorks and Queens Garden in conjunction with the North Queens Leaders Group.
