Hot? Find the nearest cooling center

With temperatures soaring in the high 90s again, cooling centers are expected to be opened to those seeking solace from the sun.

Some of the locations being used as cooling centers include the Bayside Library, East Flushing Library, Bay Terrace Library, Broadway Library, Self-Help Clearview Senior Center, Woodside Senior Center, CCNS Bayside Community Center, Sunnyside Community Center and many more.

A list of the closest cooling centers to your home is easily accessible online at NYC.gov/OEM or by calling 3-1-1. Cooling centers are not listed unless there is a declared heat emergency. – Bob Doda
